BRUNSWICK, Maine – November 17, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer College women's basketball fell to nationally ranked Bowdoin College, 94-56, on the final day of the Coastal Classic Tip-Off Tournament hosted by the Polar Bears.
Bowdoin, the second-ranked team in the nation, improves to 2-0 while the Chargers drop their first game of the season. Colby-Sawyer (2-1) will host Plymouth State on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Maddie Hasson scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Polar Bears. She knocked down 12-of-15 shots. Abby Kelly added 11 points, while Sela Kay contributed nine.
Lexie Hamilton led Colby-Sawyer with 16 points, six assists and five rebounds.
Mackenzie Buzzell tied a career-high with 12 points, while
Tianna Sugars was the third Charger in double figures with 11 points.
The Chargers shot 40% from the floor, while Bowdoin was at 44.9%. Colby-Sawyer made 36.4% from beyond the arc and the Polar Bears made 34.6%, but finished with nine makes.
