NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 6, 2018 – The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision to Emmanuel in Saturday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest at Kelsey Field.
Colby-Sawyer drops to 4-6 overall and 4-4 in the GNAC. The Chargers travel to Rivier on Wednesday. Emmanuel improves to 9-4 overall and 5-2 in the conference. The Saints travel to Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Wednesday.
The visitors scored three times in the first half and held an 8-5 advantage in shots and a 5-1 margin in corner kicks. First-year Bailey Maurer (Florence, Mass.), senior Kayla Generis (Wethersfield, Conn.) and the team's leading scorer Mikayla Guthrie (North Andover, Mass.) each scored in the half. Generis assisted on her teammates goals.
Emmanuel added a fourth goal in the 62nd minute off the foot of sophomore Sydney Allen (Charlestown, R.I.). The goal was her second of the season.
Colby-Sawyer's lone goal came off a nice play from a senior duo.

Abbie Sansoucy (Douglas, Mass.) who used her head to notch her third goal of the season.
The Saints added an insurance goal in the 73rd minute when sophomore Emma Johnson (Ellington, Conn.) found the back of the net with her first tally of the year.
Emmanuel goalie Kennedy Davignon (Woodstock, Conn.) earned her first win of the season with six saves. Senior
Oona Bond (Southborough, Mass.) had seven saves in the loss.
