PLYMOUTH, N.H. - September 8, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to Keene State and Plymouth State on day one of the Granite State Challenge.
The Chargers (1-5) will play New England College and Rivier at Keene State tomorrow to conclude the final day of the challenge. Keene State improved to 6-0, while Plymouth moved to 5-2.
Keene State 3, Colby-Sawyer 2 - 26-24, 25-11, 23-25, 21-25, 15-10
After dropping the first two sets to the Owls, Colby-Sawyer battled back and won the next two sets to force a fifth for the second straight match. Keene State was able to outlast the Chargers with a 15-10 fifth set victory.
Courtney Murray and
Naarah Cox led the Colby-Sawyer offense with 16 kills apiece. Cox added five blocks, while Murray recorded the double-double with 10 digs.
Olivia Goodrich finished with 42 assists and 12 digs, while
Rebecca Straubel led the team with 17 digs.
Plymouth State 3, Colby-Sawyer 0 - 25-14, 25-13, 25-18
Cox once again led the team with five kills. Strauble picked up eight digs, while
Morgan Flynn added seven and a pair of aces.
