Box Score BELGRADE, Maine - September 30, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis continued its undefeated run to begin the season with a 9-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory at Thomas on Saturday afternoon.
The Chargers improve to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the conference. The team will continue a busy stretch of four days of competition tomorrow with a 10 a.m. match at Husson.
Colby-Sawyer continued to gain a match advantage by sweeping doubles play.
Ashley Woodside and
Yashu Yang downed Olivia Mora and Irune Arruti Moreno 8-1 at the top flight.
Maddy Gemerek and
Lauren Blanchard teamed at No. 2, while
Alexa Conlin and
Michelle Lopes combined at No. 3. Each tandem won by an 8-0 score.
Evelyn Miller stepped in at the top singles flight and dropped just one game en route to the victory over Mora. The Chargers took the remaining singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Aislinn O'Connor won at No. 2, while Gemerek triumphed at No. 3.
Christine Hill came away with a victory at the fourth flight and
Alexa Conlin won at No. 5.
Hilary Boucher rounded out the singles wins for Colby-Sawyer at No. 6.
