FITCHBURG, Mass. - September 14, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer field hockey team fell at Fitchburg State, 2-1, late in the first overtime under the lights at Elliot Field.
The Chargers even their record to 2-2 and will remain on the road this weekend with a Saturday contest at Becker. Fitchburg State improves to 2-1.
Colby-Sawyer took a 1-0 lead with less than two minutes to go in the first half off the stick of sophomore
Alie Jones. The goal was her team leading fourth of the season.
The home team tied the game eight and a half minutes into the second half when Bailey Miller finished a feed from Casey Noonan.
With two minutes remaining in the first overtime session, Fitchburg State's Molly Richard sent the Falcons home with a 2-1 victory.
Freshman
Abby Ladd made eight saves for the Chargers, while Rhiannon Fletcher came away with 12 stops for the Falcons.
Colby-Sawyer finished the game with advantages in shots (22-18) and penalty corners (9-8).
