Box Score JOHNSON, Vt. - September 12, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team earned its second straight 9-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory by defeating Johnson on Tuesday afternoon.
The Chargers improve to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The team will host Castleton on Wednesday before hosting 2017 NCAA Tournament participant Johnson & Wales on Saturday at 1 p.m. Johnson falls to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the NAC. The Badgers travel to Maine this weekend for matches against Thomas and Husson.
Colby-Sawyer won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. The first team of
Ashley Woodside and
Michelle Lopes won 8-0.
Evelyn Miller and
Aislinn O'Connor combined for an 8-2 victory at No. 2, while
Lauren Blanchard and
Christine Hill won 8-0 at No. 3.
The Chargers swept singles to take the 9-0 victory.
Woodside won 6-1, 6-1 at the top flight, followed by a 6-0, 6-0 win by Miller at No. 2. O'Connor dropped just one game at No. 3. Blanchard and Hill did not drop a game in their No. 4 and No. 5 wins, while Lopes made it a sweep with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the sixth flight.
