CASTINE, Maine - November 3, 2017 - The third seed Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team defeated second seed Husson, 3-0, in Friday evening's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) semifinal match hosted by top seed Maine Maritime. Colby-Sawyer won by scores of 25-14, 27-25 and 25-14.
The Chargers improve to 14-18 and will play the top seed Mariners on Saturday at 11 a.m. for the NAC title. These two teams have met in the championship at the end of every season since Colby-Sawyer joined the NAC in 2011. The Chargers won five in a row before Maine Maritime came out on top last season.
First Team All-Conference selection
Naarah Cox led the Chargers with 11 kills, and added three blocks and a dig, while
Olivia Goodrich tallied a double-double of 29 assists and 11 digs, and
Morgan Flynn led all players with 13 digs.
Rebecca Straubel added seven kills and 11 digs.
Bailey Cote, a First Team All-Conference selection, led the Eagles with four kills and also contributed two digs and an ace. Hannah Hembrow led Husson with nine digs and nine assists.
The Eagles conclude their season at 16-11.
