Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. - October 11, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team fell to Division II Southern New Hampshire University, 6-3, to record their first loss of the season.
The Chargers are now 12-1 and will compete at NEWITT this weekend. SNHU, which was chosen to finish third with three first place votes in the Northeast-10 of Division II, improves to 7-3.
Colby-Sawyer played tough in all three doubles matches and came away with a point at No. 2.
Evelyn Miller and
Aislinn O'Connor battled for a 9-7 triumph over Kaitlyn Poje and Lindsay Baum.
Ashley Woodside and
Yashu Yang played a close match at the top doubles spot, but fell 8-5.
Lauren Blanchard and
Maddy Gemerek also fought hard at No. 3 before falling 8-3.
Miller also picked up an impressive win at No. 3 over Poje. After winning the first set 6-1, Miller dropped the second 6-2, but responded with a 6-2 win of her own in the third set to take the victory.
Also earning a great singles victory on the afternoon was Blanchard. She won in convincing fashion at No. 6 against Abbey Killiam 6-1, 6-0.
