Box Score BANGOR, Maine - October 1, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team began the month of October the same way they began September, with a victory. Today the Chargers defeated Husson, 9-0, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC).
The Chargers improve to 9-0 and 6-0 in the NAC. The team will conclude conference play tomorrow at home against Lyndon. Husson falls to 6-3 overall and 5-2 in the conference.
Ashley Woodside and
Yashu Yang cruised to an 8-0 win at the top doubles spot, while
Alexa Conlin and
Michelle Lopes also won their match at No. 3 by an 8-0 score.
Evelyn Miller and
Aislinn O'Connor made it a doubles sweep for Colby-Sawyer with an 8-4 triumph at No. 2.
Woodside and Yang completed their day without dropping a game after 6-0, 6-0 results at the top two singles flights.
Maddy Gemerek came away with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the third spot, while
Lauren Blanchard dropped just one game in each set en route to the 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 4.
Christine Hill recorded an unblemished victory at the fifth flight, while
Hilary Boucher defeated her No. 6 opponent 6-1, 6-1.
