NEW LONDON, N.H. - January 14, 2017 - The men's and women's Colby-Sawyer swimming and diving teams returned to the pool with their first meet of the New Year on Saturday and hosted Simmons and Regis at the Knight Natatorium.
Prior to the start of the meet, seniors
Brett Cayer (Newington, Conn.),
Meghan Mamlock (West Barnstable, Mass.),
Josh Paszczuk (Newington, Conn.),
Jameson Ploch (Old Town, Maine) and
Anna Zdziarski (Southfield, Mass.) were honored for their years of dedication to Colby-Sawyer and the Colby-Sawyer swimming and diving program.
RESULTS
SCORES
The Colby-Sawyer men were defeated by Regis 138-71, while the women fell to Regis 148-105 and Simmons 195-67.
Mamlock finished second to a swimmer from Simmons in the 200 freestyle but placed ahead of the competitors from Regis. She touched the wall in 2:05.30. Mamlock also registered a second place in the 500 freestyle (5:40.39).
Ploch came away with second place in the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:04.52.
Paszczuk had a pair of second place finishes on the afternoon. He was second in the 50 backstroke at 26.76 and 100 backstroke in 59.29.
Zdziarski collected a runner-up finish in the 50 breaststroke with a season best time of 34.23. She earned first place points by placing higher than Regis. She then had a similar result in the 100 breaststroke, placing second in a time of 1:14.27.
In the 100 butterfly, Cayer finished second at 59.73. He also placed second in the 100 freestyle in a time of 52.68.
Junior
Mason Amitrano had a nice afternoon by winning the 50 breaststroke in a time of 30.02 and the 100 IM at 1:01.40.
The Chargers will compete at Husson next Saturday.
