NEW LONDON, N.H. - September 30, 2016 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team ran its win streak to seven after Friday's 9-0 win over MCLA.
The Chargers improve to 8-1 overall and sit atop the conference standings at 5-0. MCLA dips to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the NEAC East.
Colby-Sawyer dropped just two games in doubles as the team easily jumped out to a 3-0 lead.
Ashley Woodside and
Aislinn O'Connor won 8-1 while
Lauren Blanchard and
Christine Hill also won by that margin.
Michelle Lopes and
Hilary Boucher won 8-0 in the third doubles slot.
In singles action, Woodside won in straight sets in the top slot while
Maddy Gemerek won 6-1, 6-3 in the second over Emily Deaso. O'Connor, Hill, Blanchard, and
Alexa Conlin also earned points for to secure the 9-0 win.
