LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – September 25, 2016 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team won its sixth straight match after defeating Lyndon 9-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) East Division action on Sunday afternoon at the Dudley Bell Tennis Center.
The Chargers improve to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the NEAC East and will host MCLA Wednesday. The Hornets fall to 0-9 on the season and 0-5 in the NEAC East and travel to Castleton on Wednesday.
Ashley Woodside and
Maddy Gemerek took the first flight of doubles for the Chargers 8-1 over Nichole Jones and Carina Alden, while
Christine Hill and
Lauren Blanchard topped Roze Yar and Savannah Jackson 8-0 in the second flight. The Chargers took the third flight due to a Lyndon forfeit.
The Chargers continued their strong play in singles matches as the first, second, and fourth flights were all taken by a score of 6-0, 6-0. The third and fifth flights went to the Chargers 6-1, 6-0 with the sixth flight being won on forfeit.
