NEW LONDON, N.H. – December 3, 2016 – The men's swimming and diving team hosted the 2016 Colby-Sawyer College Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Chargers hosted four schools over the two day event, finishing in third place with a total of 178 points

Senior Brett Cayer led the Chargers with a solid performance. Cayer placed third in the 200 yard freestyle (1:56.13), fourth in the 50 yard freestyle (23.39) and fourth in the 100 yard freestyle (51.61).

Fellow senior Josh Paszczuk added a pair of individual third place finishes in the 100 and 200 yard backstroke events. Paszczuk finished in 59.65 and 2:14.95 respectively.

Cayer and Paszczuk also helped the 200 yard medley relay team to a third place finish. The team of Cayer, Paszczuk, Mason Amitrano and Chris Manwaring finish in a time of 1:49.14.

On Friday night, the Chargers were paced by three individual first place finishes a pair of second place relay finishes.

Mason Amitrano led the team with two first place finishes. Amitrano earned the top times in the 50 yard breaststroke (29.79) and the 100 yard IM (1:03.50).

Josh Paszczuk placed first in the 50 yard backstroke. The senior finished in a time of 27.30.

Amitrano and Paszczuk also helped the 400 yard medley and 200 yard freestyle relay teams to second place finishes.

The Chargers will return to the pool after the winter break when they travel to Regis College on January 14.
