NEW LONDON, N.H. – January 23, 2016 – The Colby-Sawyer College men's and women's swimming and diving team celebrated senior day Saturday afternoon at the Knight Natatorium. The Fighting Scots edged both the women and the men 147-106 and 138-94, respectively.
COMPLETE RESULTSThe Chargers honored the seven senior members of the swimming and diving teams prior to the start of the meet. The seven senior members included
Kaitlyn Cahill,
Alex Dumont,
Elaine Miller,
Hannah Willcutt,
Joseph Davalos,
Devin Uhlman and
Sam White.
Elaine Miller earned a pair of first place finishes on her senior day in the 50 yard and 100 yard freestyle events. Miller finished in times of 25.76 and 55.38 respectively. She also helped the 200 yard freestyle relay team to a first place finish. The team which also included
Anna Zdziarski,
Meagan Thomsen and
Makenzie Welch finished in a time of 1:47.76.
Hannah Willcutt earned a second place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle. Willcutt finished in a time of 12:26.49. Willcutt also scored a third place finish in the 200 yard IM finishing in 2:40.84.
Alex Dumont and
Kaitlyn Cahill both had strong performances in the 50 yard freestyle event. Dumont and Cahill finished in times of 31.95 and 39.15 respectively.
Devin Uhlman earned a first place finish in the 500 yard freestyle finishing in a time of 5:20.34. Uhlman also helped the 200 yard medley relay team to a first finish. Uhlman along with
Josh Paszczuk,
Mason Amitrano and
Brett Cayer finished in a time of 1:44.62. Uhlman also earned a third place finish in the 100 yard butterfly (1:00.03).
Joseph Davalos earned a third place finish in the 200 yard backstroke. Davalos finished in a time of 2:23.98.
Sam White placed fourth in the 100 yard breaststroke. White finished in a time of 1:29.61.
Uhlman, Davalos and White also helped the 200 yard freestyle team to a second place finish. The team, which also included
Chris Manwaring, finished in a time of 1:55.77.
Other notable finishes were
Anna Zdziarski placing first in the 50 yard (35.10) and 100 yard (1:16.62) breaststroke as well as the men's 200 yard freestyle relay team earning a top finish. The team of
Josh Paszczuk,
Mason Amitrano,
Jameson Ploch and
Brett Cayer finished in a time of 1:37.99.
The Chargers return to the pool next Saturday when they host a "Last Chance Meet" for postseason qualifications. Events begin at 1:00pm.
