NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 26, 2015 – Colby-Sawyer junior
Rachel Quaye (Westminster, Mass.) scored two goals to lift the women's soccer team to a 2-1 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over Husson on Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 3-2-2 overall and 2-0 in conference action. The Chargers will step out of conference for a Wednesday match at Gordon. Husson drops to 3-4-1 overall and 0-2 in the NAC. The Eagles host Maine-Fort Kent on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
Quaye got the scoring started in the 21st minute when she finished after receiving a pass across the goal mouth from junior
Lizzie Jorgensen (Manchester, Vt.).
In the 62nd minute, freshman
Amanda Martin (Amesbury, Mass.) sent a long through ball to the racing Quaye leading to a break away. Quaye scored her team leading third goal into the bottom left of the net.
Husson cut the lead in half in 10 minutes later with a 20 yard shot into the upper right corner of the goal from sophomore Taylor Fortin (Goffstown, N.H.).

Karley Hamilton (Bradford, Vt.) made a save in the win. Husson goalie Kayla Gordon (Wiscasset, Maine) had three stops in the loss.
The Chargers held a 16-7 edge in shots and a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks.
