Sierra Schuster Scores Three Times in 7-0 Win over Daniel Webster

NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 23, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer College field hockey team pushed its win streak to four after a 7-0 victory over Daniel Webster on Wednesday afternoon.

Colby-Sawyer improves to 5-3 and will play its first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at home against Husson. Daniel Webster drops to 0-4 and will play at Bay Path on Sunday.

After not recording a hat-trick in the first 4+ years of the program, the Chargers received a hat-trick for the second time in four days. Freshman Sierra Schuster (Hopkinton, N.H.) scored a pair of goals in the first half and netted the hat-trick in the 47th minute to help lift the Chargers to the victory.

Colby-Sawyer got on the board less than 1:30 into the game when senior Brittany Grandbois (East Barre, Vt.) inserted a corner to junior Allyse Mullen (Wilder, Vt.) who fired a shot past the goalie for her second tally of the season.

Schuster scored the Chargers' second goal in the 17th minute. Seven minutes later, the home team doubled its lead with a pair of goals in a 2:36 span off the sticks of senior Becky Batchelder (Pepperell, Mass.) and sophomore Paige Viens (Middlebury, Vt.). Schuster notched the Chargers' fifth goal of the first half with less than five minutes remaining.

Junior Erika Leach (Barrington, N.H.) added a sixth goal early in the second half and Schuster capped the afternoon off with her third goal at 46:27 off an assist from sophomore Jenna Donahue (Walpole, Mass.).

Brittany Grandbois finished with three assists, while Becca Hashem had two helpers.

Senior Kasey Redmond (Germantown, N.Y.) got her first win of the season and made one save. Daniel Webster goalie Michelle Davis (McKinney, Texas) stopped 16 shots in the loss. Freshman Madison Wood (Suwanne, Ga.) added a defensive save for the Eagles.
