The Pilgrims got the scoring started 1:12 into the game with a goal from junior Gabriella Bigos (Branford, Conn.), but Colby-Sawyer would then take control of the game scoring the next four goals.

The visitors got a goal back at 18:54 to cut the deficit to 4-2, but the Chargers closed the half on a 7-0 run to take an 11-2 lead into the break.

After the first eight minutes of the second half was scoreless, NEC once again was first to score in the frame on a goal from Elizabeth Bois (Westbrook, Maine). In the next seven minutes, Colby-Sawyer received a goal from senior Michelle Upham (Chelsea, Vt.) and a pair from junior Caitlyn Whearty (Hampstead, N.H.) to take a 14-3 lead.

Bigos added her second goal of the game with 11:31 left to play, but the Chargers offense possessed the ball for most of the remainder of the contest and added three goals to secure the 17-4 victory.

Whearty scored a game best five goals for the Chargers, while senior Alyssia Janak (Bourne, Mass.) and freshman Nicole Lavigne (Berlin, Vt.) added three goals apiece. Janak also collected three assists to give her 28 on the season, which is tied for second most in a season with Brittney Murphy '12.
