NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 4, 2015 – Colby-Sawyer junior
Rachel Quaye (Westminster, Mass.) recorded a hat trick as the women's soccer team defeated Thomas College 5-0 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Sunday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 5-2-2 overall and 4-0 in the NAC. The Chargers will step out of conference on Wednesday with a home match against Plymouth State before traveling to Vermont over the weekend to play at Lyndon and Johnson State. Thomas evens its record to 5-5 overall and falls to 2-1 in conference action. The Terriers will host Green Mountain and Castleton next weekend.
Junior
Kelsey Campbell (Upton, Mass.) put the Chargers on the board at 5:17 when she scored off a rebound of her initial shot.
Less than two minutes later, Quaye began to make her mark on the match as she weaved through the Terriers defense to score into the left corner of the net.
Quaye gave the Chargers a 3-0 lead at 14:35 when she finished into the upper left side of the net off a feed from freshman
Abbie Sansoucy (Douglas, Mass.).
The hat trick for Quaye came 41 seconds into the second half. Freshman
Amanda Martin (Amesbury, Mass.) played give-and-go with Quaye who scored into the far side of the goal. Quaye has a team best six goals on the season.

Natalie Ellard (Rockland, Mass.) put home her first collegiate tally off a nice through ball from senior

Senior
Karley Hamilton (Bradford, Vt.) earned her fourth solo clean sheet of the season with eight saves. Thomas junior goalie Paige Leary (Palermo, Maine) finished with 16 saves.
Colby-Sawyer ended the match with a 35-12 advantage in shots and a 12-2 edge in corner kicks.
