NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 17, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer College women's soccer team earned its eighth straight victory after a 3-0 triumph over Green Mountain College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on a blustery Saturday afternoon at Kelsey Field.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 10-2-2 overall and 7-0 in the NAC. The Chargers will travel to Castleton on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. tilt between the conference's two unbeaten teams. Green Mountain falls to 2-11 overall and 0-6 in the conference. The Eagles will begin a three-match home stretch to finish the regular season on Wednesday against Lyndon at 3:30 p.m.
Maura Kane (Derry, N.H.) put the Chargers on the board six minutes into the match. Junior
Lizzie Jorgensen (Manchester, Vt.) crossed a ball to the middle of the field where Kane took a shot from 18 yards out and scored her third goal of the season.
Jorgensen then doubled Colby-Sawyer's lead in the 33rd minute with a bending ball that went inside the far post for her third tally of the year.
The home team held a 2-0 lead at the break and quickly made it 3-0 less than a minute into the second half. Junior

Oona Bond (Southborough, Mass.) finished the match to combine for the team's ninth clean sheet of the season.
