NEW LONDON, N.H. – January 31, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer men's swimming and diving team celebrated senior day Saturday afternoon as the squad hosted the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. The Chargers fell to the Corsairs, 146-104.

Signe Linville recognized the Charger seniors for their four years of accomplishments, hard work and dedication to the swim program. The three honored seniors were
Justin Banos,
Nate O'Donnell and
Ian Whippie.
In the final regular season meet of the season, the Chargers were led by a strong senior showing.
Justin Banos and
Ian Whippie each earned a pair of first place finishes on the day. Banos placed first in the 50 yard breaststroke (29.30), helped the 400 yard freestyle relay team to the top spot and aided the 200 yard medley relay team to a second place finish. Whippie earned the top point total in the 1 meter dive finishing with 109.80 points.
The first place 400 yard freestyle relay and second place 200 yard medley relay teams consisted of Banos,
Mason Amitrano,
Josh Paszczuk and
Brett Cayer. The team finished the 400 yard freestyle with the top time of 3:33.71 and the 200 yard medley in 1:46.63.
Paszczuk and Amitrano each also earned a pair of individual wins on the day. Paszczuk placed first in the 50 yard backstroke (27.34) while Amitrano took first in the 100 yard backstroke (58.72).
Cayer had a strong individual performance as well placing second in both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events. Cayer finished in 23.82 and 52.32 respectively.
Devin Uhlman earned a first place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle. Uhlman finished the race in a time of 11:09.22.
Jameson Ploch placed second in the 200 yard freestyle finishing in 2:05.73.
Senior
Nate O'Donnell finished the day with a third and pair of fourth place finishes.
Colby-Sawyer will return to the pool in two weeks when they travel to the University of Rhode Island for the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships. Events will be held from February 13
th through the 15
th.
