NORTON, Mass. - April 12, 2014 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team fell at Wheaton, 9-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Chargers drop to 10-7 and will look to rebound tomorrow in a home match against Simmons at 3:00 p.m. Wheaton improves to 13-4.
The Lyons began the afternoon by sweeping all three doubles matches. Alexandra Marlowe and Lyndsay Cooke dispatched
Elizabeth Lincoln and
Ashlyn Ramsay, 8-2 No. 1. The Chargers duo of
Oxana Tkachenko and
Ellen Graham fell to Amanda Brazell and Morgan Bell 8-1 at No. 2, while Sarah Crom and Jessica Moore picked up an 8-0 win at No. 3 against Colby-Sawyer's
Allyse Mullen and
Ziyoda Saidova.
Marlowe went on to take her No. 1 singles match in straight sets, while Cooke turned in a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 2. Brazell breezed to a 6-1, 6-0 decision at No. 3 and Bell, who was slotted in the No. 4 position, cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win.
