NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - March 28, 2014 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team began its spring portion of the 2013-14 schedule with a 5-4 road loss at Smith.
The Chargers fall to 10-5 on the season and will play at Mount Holyoke on Saturday at 10:30 am.
Smith jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play.
Elizabeth Lincoln and
Ashlyn Ramsay were responsible for the lone Chargers point as they defeated their opponents 8-2 at No. doubles.
Lincoln and Ramsay then took their No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches, respectively, in straight sets.
Oxana Tkachenko gave Colby-Sawyer its fourth point with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Isabelle Eyman at the third flight.
Smith was able to win the match by taking the bottom three singles matches in straight sets.
