NEW LONDON, N.H. – February 25, 2014 – The Colby-Sawyer College women's basketball team has earned the second seed in the upcoming North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Tournament. The Chargers will host seven seed Johnson State at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Colby-Sawyer owns a 16-9 overall record and a 15-3 mark in conference play, while the Badgers finished the regular season at 7-18 overall and 7-11 in the NAC.
The teams met twice during the season, including a contest just three days ago. Colby-Sawyer earned a 64-41 win at the Hogan Sports Center on December 12 then defeated the Badgers 51-42 in Johnson, Vt. on February 22. Tuesday's game will be the first NAC Tournament meeting between the two sides.
The Chargers are led by junior
Kelsey Cahill (Cumberland, R.I.). She is averaging 11.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
Johnson State is led by junior Brittany Robertson (Burlington, Vt.). She scored 9.9 points per game and grabs 3.3 boards.
Colby-Sawyer enters the quarterfinal contest with the ninth best field goal percentage defense in the nation at 31.9 percent. Johnson shoots at a 33.9 percent clip from the floor.
Preseason favorite Castleton State College secured the top seed. The Spartans (22-3 overall, 17-1 NAC) will host eighth-seeded Thomas College (4-21 overall, 4-14 NAC) in a quarterfinal game on Tuesday.
Third-seeded Maine Maritime Academy (16-9 overall, 13-5 NAC) will host sixth-seeded UMaine-Farmington (9-16 overall, 8-10 NAC), while fourth-seeded Husson University (14-11 overall, 13-5 NAC) hosts fifth seed New England College (14-11, 9-9 NAC) in the final quarterfinal Tuesday.
The top eight teams qualify for the NAC Championship. Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.
