NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 27, 2014 – The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team has claimed the top seed for the 2014 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) volleyball championship and will host both the semifinals and finals, which will be played on Friday, November 7, and Saturday, November 8.

The Chargers (23-8 overall) earned the top seed in the conference tournament after posting an unblemished 6-0 record in NAC play. Colby-Sawyer has won all 26 of its conference matches since joining the NAC in 2011. The Chargers have won 78 out of 80 sets played.
Colby-Sawyer is currently the No. 11 ranked team in the most recent NCAA Division III New England Regional Rankings and has won seven straight matches.
Maine Maritime (13-13 overall, 5-1 NAC) claimed the No. 2 seed, while Husson (9-21, 3-3) and Lyndon (7-12, 3-3) earned the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds respectively to complete the four-team tournament field.
NAC predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.
Two semifinal contests will be played on Friday, as No. 1 Colby-Sawyer will host No. 4 Lyndon and No. 2 Maine Maritime will take on No. 3 Husson. Match times will be announced early next week.
The Chargers will meet the Hornets in the NAC tournament for the first time, while Colby-Sawyer has been matched up against Husson twice out of the last three semifinals and have won the last three titles by defeating Maine Maritime in the championship match.
Semifinal winners will square off for the conference championship on Saturday, November 8, at a time to be determined at Colby-Sawyer College.
The NAC Champion will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship.
