Courtney O'Hara Records 1,000th Kill as Chargers Win Twice

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WALTHAM, Mass. - September 21, 2013 - Senior Courtney O'Hara (Mystic, Conn.) became the fifth Colby-Sawyer player to reach the 1,000 career kill mark, as the Chargers swept Emmanuel and Brandeis on Saturday afternoon. 

Colby-Sawyer defeated Emmanuel 25-22, 25-16, and 25-10 in the day's first match and followed with a 25-18, 25-23, and

O'Hara led all players with 11 kills, as she surpassed 1,000 kills with 1,004. She hit an impressive match best .611. Middle hitter Emilee McBride added eight kills and a match-high four total blocks. Junior Jacki Keating chipped in with seven kills and seven digs. Senior Ally Le-Bruno collected a match-high 20 digs. Sophomore Laura Smolinski had a double-double with 27 assists and 12 digs.

Seniors Emilee McBride and Courtney O'Hara continued their dominance at the net against Brandeis with 10 kills apiece. 

Junior Sarah Hannon recorded 12 digs while senior libero Ally Le-Bruno joined her in double-digits with 11. Smolinski added 35 assists for the match. Keating and Stephanie Vecchio contributed nine and eight kills, respectively. 

Colby-Sawyer will play at Middlebury on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
