HANOVER, N.H. - March 20, 2013 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team defeated Smith, 9-0 on Wednesday evening in one of the team's three spring tune-up matches before the NEAC Crossover Championship on May 5.
The Chargers improve to 17-2 and will host Merrimack on April 10 at 3:30 pm. Smith drops to 1-9.
Colby-Sawyer did not lose a game in doubles action.
Claire Toffey and Liz Lincoln combined for an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while
Donna Gordon and
Ashlyn Ramsay also won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Charlotte Horton and
Oxana Tkachenko made it a sweep in the third slot.
The Chargers then ran the table in singles play without dropping a set. Each doubles player won her respective singles match in straight sets.
