Women's Basketball Hits Program Record 17 Three's in 103-41 Win at Green Mountain

Box Score POULTNEY, Vt. – December 7, 2013 - Colby-Sawyer College shot 58.6% while hitting a school record 17-of-29 three-point shots en route to an easy 103-41 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over Green Mountain College in  women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at the Eagle Dome.

The 17 made trey's breaks the old school record of 13 that was accomplished on Feb. 4, 2012. Colby-Sawyer recorded its sixth highest point total in school history with 103 and made 40 field goals which tied for seventh most in program history. 

Colby-Sawyer jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead and didn't look back as it led by large double-digit figures for the remainder of the game.

Freshman guard Lexi Iannone came off the bench and the led the barrage of three point shooting, hitting 7-of-10 from downtown to lead the Chargers with 21 points. The seven made three pointers tied for the second most in a single game with Lisa Cole's '06 seven on Dec. 6, 2001. During one stretch during the first half Iannone hit four-straight threes. Sophomore teammate Katie McCarthy was perfect from beyond the arc as she hit four 3 pointers as a part of her 17 bench points and supplemented her shooting performance with four rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Freshman forward Marquis MacGlashing continued the production from the bench for the visitors scoring 10 points, while freshman center Ally Mignault led the Chargers on the glass grabbing eight rebounds.

Leading the way for Green Mountain College was sophomore guard Allison Wadsworth who scored 13 points including three made threes from beyond the arc.  Junior guard Amber Heath had a nice all-round game with 12 points, five rebounds and seven assists.  Sophomore forward Torie Cowell added 10 points for the Eagles in the loss.  Senior forward Virginia Anderson grabbed a team-high eight rebounds including five on the offensive glass.

Colby-Sawyer is back in action Tuesday, December 10th as the Chargers host Norwich University at 5:30 PM.  Green Mountain College gets little rest as the Eagles travel to face Unity College tomorrow in a 4 PM tip-off.
