Box Score BOSTON, Mass. - November 23, 2013 - The Suffolk women's basketball team held Colby-Sawyer to 17 first half points en route to a 63-45 home victory on Saturday afternoon.

The Chargers drop to 0-4 and will look for their first win on December 3 at home against Plymouth. Suffolk improves to 3-1 and will host Roger Williams on Tuesday.
Senior Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) finished with a team-high 13 points, while freshman Georgia Bourikas (Hull, Mass.) was a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point land for 12 points to lead Suffolk.
Suffolk would close out the first half with a 7-0 run to take a 13-point lead into the break at 30-17. Ruys led the way with 10 first half points on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting clip from the free-throw line.
Colby Sawyer would strike early in the second half when sophomore
Jessica Shenkel (Sharon, Mass.) connected on one of her three three-pointers to make it a 10-point game. Suffolk would then go on a 7-0 run over the next seventy seconds to build their lead back up to 17 points when junior Shelby Santini (Winchester, Mass.) put in a layup to make it a 37-20 contest.

Kelsey Bragdon (Wells, Maine) would get the Chargers back to an eight point deficit as her layup capped off a 7-0 run to make it a 39-31 Suffolk lead with 11:44 remaining, but that was as close as it would get from there.
Bourikas and junior Iliana Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) would hit back to back threes later in the period, before a layup by sophomore Chelsea Campellone (Fall River, Mass.) gave Suffolk their largest lead of the day at 21 points with 2:40 remaining as the score read 61-40.
Bragdon finished the game with a team-high 13 points in the losing effort for the Chargers. Shenkel scored all nine of her points from beyond the arc as she was 3-for-4 from three-point land in the contest. Junior
Kelsey Cahill (Cumberland, R.I.) chipped in with nine points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Santini netted 12 points in the game for Suffolk and also recorded seven steals as the Rams were able to force 14 points of Chargers' turnovers in the game. Sophomore Katie Murray (Holden, Mass.) finished with a game-high 11 rebounds and Suffolk held a slight edge on the glass at a 40-31 margin.
