NEW LONDON, N.H. - November 16, 2013 - The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team picked up a pair of wins over Elms and Plymouth at Saturday's double dual meet. The Chargers earned a 212-70 win over Elms and a 178-112 over Plymouth.
RESULTS
Colby-Sawyer had three swimmers record four wins on the afternoon.
Elaine Miller won the 200 freestyle in 2:09.55 to begin her impressive afternoon. She followed with a 26.54 victory in the 50 freestyle. Her third individual victory came in the 100 backstroke. She touched the wall at 1:08.75 just before teammate
Hannah Willcutt at 1:09.07.
Miller then teamed with
Emma Nagle,
Anna Zdziarski and
Jen Gavell to take top honors in the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:50.05.
Nagle came away with a pair of individual wins and two relay wins. Nagle,
Krystyna Estrada, Willcutt and Gavell combined for first place in the 200 medley relay in a time of 2:00.58. Her solo victories came in the 100 butterfly (1:04.82) and the 50 butterfly (28.83).
Krystyna Estrada was the third member of the team to record four victories on the day. In addition to the 200 medley relay victory, Estrada beat the competition in the 50 breaststroke by over a second in 33.41. She then turned in a 55 flat time en route to a win in the 100 freestyle. Estrada ended the afternoon by winning the 100 IM by a six second margin. She touched the wall at 1:04.30.
Colby-Sawyer will travel to SUNY Potsdam for a two-day meet on November 22-23.
