Ally Le-Bruno Sets NEWVA Digs Record as Chargers Fall to Rivier

Box Score NASHUA, N.H. - October 31, 2013 - Colby-Sawyer senior libero Ally Le-Bruno (Medfield, Mass.) became the all-time leader in career digs in the New England Women's Volleyball Association with 2533 as the Chargers fell at Rivier University 3-1.

Rivier won the four set game by scores of 12-25, 25-10, 25-14 and 27-25.

Le-Bruno now has 2533 career digs to become the New England Women's Volleyball Association's all-time leader in digs. She surpassed Springfield's Leah Hettrick who recorded 2520 from 2003 to 2006. 

Senior Nicole Peacock had game-high with 12 kills and freshman Molly McCormack added 10 kills as the Raiders improve to 22-8 on the season. Freshman Lauren Silverman also had a superb game as she laced eight kills while swinging at a .412 clip. Sophomore Emily O'Reilly contributed 38 assists on the evening and senior Jessica Amaral had 25 digs to pace the defensive effort. McCormack also recorded double-digit digs with 12.

Colby-Sawyer was led by Emilee McBride who had 10 kills and Jackie Keating who finished with nine kills. Laura Smolinski had 28 assists and Ally Le-Bruno recorded 22 digs.

With the loss, Colby-Sawyer falls to 20-10 overall on the season.

The Raiders will have two more matches as they prepare themselves for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament next week. On Saturday afternoon, they will travel to Dartmouth, Mass. and compete in a tri-match with UMass-Dartmouth and the University of Southern Maine. Colby-Sawyer will return to action on Friday, November 8th as they begin play in the North Atlantic Conference Tournament.
