Women's Volleyball Sweeps Johnson and Lyndon

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 JOHNSON, Vt. - October 26, 2013 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team swept Johnson and Lyndon, 3-0 in Saturday's tri-match hosted by the Badgers. The Chargers have earned the top seed in the upcoming North Atlantic Conference (NAC) tournament and have earned a first round bye. 

Colby-Sawyer beat Johnson by scores of 25-4, 25-7 and 25-9. The Chargers defeated Lyndon 25-5, 25-13 and 25-13. 

Kelsey Sullivan had a career and team-high 12 kills and hit .688 in the win over Johnson. The team hit .542 for the match. Sarah Hannon had 11 assists and six aces.

Against Lyndon, Emilee McBride hit .700 with eight kills, while Courtney O'Hara hit .857 with six kills. Ally Le-Bruno recorded eight aces.

The Chargers finished the season a with an unblemished record in league play for the third straight season. The Chargers (19-9 overall) have earned a bye through the first round, and will host the semifinal and final rounds on Friday and Saturday November 8 and 9.

Maine Maritime Academy (16-8 overall, 5-1 NAC) finished second in the league standings and has also earned a bye to the semifinal round.

Castleton State College (9-12 overall, 3-3 NAC) has earned the third seed in the tournament and will host sixth-seeded Lyndon State College (8-11 overall, 2-4 NAC) on Saturday in a first-round match-up.

Fourth-seeded Husson (10-18 overall, 3-3 NAC) will host the other first-round match versus fifth-seeded Green Mountain (5-16 overall, 2-4 NAC).

First round games will be played on Saturday, November 2 at the higher seed. Winners will advance to the semifinals held at Colby-Sawyer on Friday, November 8. Semifinal game times for Friday are 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. with the championship on Saturday, November 9 at noon.

The NAC Champion receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship.

Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to determine final seeding for teams with identical conference winning percentages.
