Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats Norwich 204-26

NORWICH, Vt. - October 26, 2013 - The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team earned a 204-26 win at Norwich on Saturday afternoon. The Chargers are off from competition next week and will return to the pool on November 9 to host Saint Michael's.

RESULTS

The team came away with several victories throughout the afternoon on Saturday.

Krystyna Estrada, Ari Marks, Erin Dunican, and Emma Nagle combined for a win in the 200 medley relay in the day's first event. The team clocked in at 2:06.89.

Marks then picked up wins in the 200 freestyle at 2:20.83 and the 100 butterfly at 1:12.87.

Estrada also had strong swims in the 50 freestyle (25.03) and the 100 breaststroke (1:14.65). She won both events and qualified for the ECAC championships in the 50 freestyle.  

Nagle won the 50 backstroke in 32.53 and 100 freestyle in 1:00.17. 

Dunican took the top spot in the 50 breaststroke at 35.58, the 100 backstroke at 1:11.17 and the 400 IM in 2:34.33.

Hannah Willcutt also picked up a win in the 1000 freestyle in a time of 12:55.51.

Samantha Dalphond scored 161.25 and 212.55 in the 1 meter diving events to earn first place. With her point total, Dalphond qualified to compete at the ECAC championships this spring.
