Women's Swimming and Diving Wins Fifth Straight Dual Meet

NEW LONDON, N.H. - January 26, 2013 - The Colby-Sawyer College women's swimming and diving team won their fifth striaght dual meet with a 167-115 win over the University of New England Saturday afternoon at the Knight Natorium.

The Chargers posted 12 first place finishes out of 16 events en route to the 167-115 win.

Colby-Sawyer began the day with the 200 yard Medlay Relay team of Emma Nagle, Erin Dunican, Hannah Fairbank and Krystyna Estrada earning a first place finish. The team finished in a time of 2:00.84.

In event 5, Krystyna Estrada earned her first of three individual first place finishes. She won the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 2:05.72. Estrada also earned top placing in the 50 yard freestyle (25.70) and the 200 yard IM (2:24.76).

In event 7, Elaine Miller earned her first of three individual first place finishes. She won the 50 yard backstroke in a time of 31.67. Miller also won the 100 yard freestyle (58.63) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:51.95).

Erin Dunican earned first place finishes in the 50 and 100 yard breaststroke events. Dunican finished in times of 33.99 and 1:14.11 respectively.

Samantha Dalphond earned first place finishes in the 1 and 3 meter diving events. Dalphond earned 226.30 and 189.30 points respectively.

Emma Nagle placed first in the 50 yard butterfly. Nagle finished in a time of 29.80.

The Chargers return to the pool Saturday, February 2 at 1:00 pm when they host the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth.
