NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 5, 2012 - The Coast Guard women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 road victory over Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday evening. The Bears won by scores of 25-18, 26-28, 25-16, and 25-20. Coast Guard improves to 1-4, while the Chargers dip to 1-4.

Junior Kelsey DePorto (Frankfort, Ill.) led all players with 16 kills and hit .367. Senior teammate Keriann Mason (Highland, Calif.) also reached double-figure kills with 12. Freshman setter Emily Gilland (Dalevill, Ind.) had a team-high 22 assists, while junior libero Samantha Marmolejo (El Paso, Texas) had a match best 21 digs. 

Colby-Sawyer was led by junior Courtney O'Hara's (Mystic, Conn.) 11 kills. Junior Ally Le-Bruno (Medfield, Mass.) collected a team best 19 digs. Freshman setter Laura Smolinski (Hebron, Conn.) recorded a double-double of 24 assists and 10 digs.

Coast Guard hosts Merchant Marine on Saturday at noon, while Colby-Sawyer hosts Norwich at 11:00 am on Saturday.
