WALTHAM, Mass. - September 15, 2012 - The Colby-Sawyer College volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday. The Chargers posted a 3-2 win over Emmanuel College, but dropped the late game 3-2 to Brandeis University. With the split, the Chargers move to 3-6 on the season.

In the first match of the day, the Chargers earned a 3-2 victory over the Saints of Emmanuel College. Colby-Sawyer was led by sophomore outside hitter
Jackie Keating who paced the team with 17 kills. Juniors
Courtney O'Hara and
Emilee McBride added 15 and 13 kills, respectively. McBride hit .590 and added four solo blocks, while O'Hara posted double-digit digs with 10.
Junior
Ally Le-Bruno racked up 22 digs and had three aces in the win.
Freshman setter
Laura Smolinski had a career best match posting 47 assists and 16 digs.
In the late game, the Chargers fell to host Brandeis, 3-2. On the offensive side, Colby-Sawyer was once again led by O'Hara, Keating and McBride. O'Hara led the way with her second double-double of the day earning 16 kills and 11 digs. Keating found the opponent's court 15 times and McBride posted another high hitting efficiency with 13 kills on 19 attempts for a .579 hitting percentage.
On the defensive side, Le-Bruno paced the Chargers with a season high 28 digs. Junior
Julia Yee also posted season high numbers as she added 13 digs.
Smolinski earned her second double-double of the day posting 44 assists and 11 digs.
Sophomore
Sarah Hannon continued to lead the Chargers with her strong serving earning six service aces.
Colby-Sawyer returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to in-state rival Keene State College. Match time is set for 7:30pm.
