Endicott Soars Past Volleyball, 3-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – October 4, 2011 -
The Endicott women's volleyball team defeated Colby-Sawyer 3-0 (25-14, 26-24, 25-18) in a non-conference rival matchup.

The Gulls, now 9-9 overall, host the 17th UMass Boston Beacons in MacDonald Gymnasium on Thursday, October 6th at 7:00 pm.  Colby-Sawyer will travels to Farmington, Maine for a conference trimatch with Maine Maritime and Husson on Saturday, October 8th.

Endicott was paced offensively by sophomore middle blocker Callie Dolan (Westford, Mass.) and junior outside hitter Falyn Torelli (Pelham, N.Y.) who each had nine kills in the match.  Torelli did all of her damage in the first two sets while Dolan struck seven of her nine kills in the second and third sets.  Both players also recorded three service aces.

Dolan, along with freshman teammate Hannah Dahlgren (Queensbury, N.Y.), were both effective in the blocking game with a solo and two assisted blocks each.

Endicott senior captain Elyse Barbour (Greenville, R.I.) and Dahlgren each contributed in the attack game with six and four kills, respectively. 

The Chargers were led by sophomore middle Emilee McBride (Strafford, N.H.) who tied Dolan and Torelli for a match-high nine kills with a .400 hit percentage. Sophomore outside hitter Courtney O'Hara (Mystic, Conn.) contributed with six kills.

Colby-Sawyer's Kristin Sawyer (Walpole, Mass.) and Paige Parker (Stafford Springs, Conn.) showed their presence at the net with three block assists each.

Gulls setter Sarah Allshouse (Berthoud, Colo.) found her teammates for 31 assists while libero Ashley Norley (Sudbury, Mass.) had a team-high 16 digs while chipping in with two kills.

Chargers libero, sophomore Ally Le-Bruno, had a match-high 24 digs in a strong defensive effort.
