Volleyball Splits at Emerson Tri-Match

BOSTON, Mass. - October 15, 2011 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team split a pair of matches at a tri-match hosted by Emerson at the Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gym Saturday. The Chargers defeated UMass Dartmouth 3-0 and fell to the host Lions, 3-1.

Colby-Sawyer earned the 3-0 sweep over UMass Dartmouth by scores of 25-14, 25-21 and 25-21. The Chargers lost to Emerson by scores of 25-23, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-22.

Colby-Sawyer is now 13-14 on the season. Emerson is 17-5 and the Corsairs are 11-12.

Emilee McBride led the Chargers against UMD with 14 kills on .583 hitting. She also had a match best five blocks. Paige Parker added seven kills. Jackie Keating hit .357 and tallied six kills.

Courtney O'Hara recorded a team-high 12 kills against Emerson. She added 12 digs. McBride was close behind with 11 and added seven more blocks. Keating registered nine kills. Ally Le-Bruno had 22 digs, while Kristin Sawyer collected a match-high 36 assists.

The Chargers return to the court on Thursday for their annual Dig Pink match. Colby-Sawyer hosts Simmons in this year's match at 7:00 pm.
