SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - September 2, 2010 - Freshman
Liz Lincoln (Plymouth, Mass.) and sophomore
Claire Toffey (Barnstable, Mass.) each won both their singles and doubles matches to lead the Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team to a 5-4 victory over host Western New England College Thursday afternoon.
It was The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) opener for each team.
Lincoln and Coffey won their number four and five singles matches, respectively, after teaming to take their number two doubles match.
Juniors Nikki DeSimone (Feeding Hills, MA) and Caitlin Hughes (Springfield, MA) teamed for a close 8-6 win at the number one doubles flight. For Hughes, it was her first collegiate win.
