NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 18, 2010 – The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team won both contests of a tri-match held at Coffin Field house on Saturday. The Chargers began the day with a 3-0 win in The Commonwealth Coast Conference opener against Anna Maria. Colby-Sawyer then defeated Castleton 3-0 in a non-conference match.

Michelle Doody (Franklin, Mass.) led all players with 17 kills on 30 attempts. Freshman Courtney O'Hara (Mystic, Conn.) tallied a match-high 11 digs and added nine kills. Freshman
Emilee McBride (Strafford, N.H.) also played well for the Chargers and had six kills on 11 attempts. Junior Nichole Robbie (Bellingham, Mass.) led the AMCATS with seven kills and nine digs. Colby-Sawyer improves to 4-4 overall and 1-0 in the TCCC, while Anna Maria dips to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Doody had another stellar game in the Colby-Sawyer win. She recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs, while hitting .647. Senior
Stef Turner (Boxborough, Mass.) hit .667 and recorded nine kills. Freshman
Julia Yee (Quincy, Mass.) registered 10 service aces. The Spartans were led by freshman Grace Schreiber (Cheshire, Conn.) who had six kills. Freshman Chelsea Schlosser (Endicott, N.Y.) tallied seven assists, five digs and three aces.
Colby-Sawyer (5-4) will host Gordon on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm. Castleton (0-4) plays a tri-match at Southern Vermont on Sunday with matches against the host and Curry.
