MILTON, Mass. - September 15, 2010 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis edged Curry College, 5-4 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference match on Wednesday afternoon. The Chargers improve to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play, while the Colonels drop to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in TCCC action.
Freshman
Liz Lincoln remained unbeaten in singles play with a convincing 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. Senior
Carolyn Drake earned her second win at the fourth flight by defeating Laura Chuha, 6-3, 6-4. Sophomore
Claire Toffey moved to 4-1 overall on the season after a straigh set victory at No. 3 singles.
Toffey and Lincoln teamed for a No. 1 doubles win, while Drake and freshman
Stephanie Carlsson defeated Megan Mulrooney and Devin Curly, 9-7 at the No. 2 doubles slot.
Colby-Sawyer hosts Anna Maria at noon on Saturday.
