QUINCY, Mass. - September 8, 2009 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team earned its third consecutive victory to start 2009 with a 9-0 win at Eastern Nazarene. The Chargers will play at Gordon on Wednesday, September 16 at 3:30 p.m.
Junior Hannah White (Stockbridge, Mass.) led the Chargers with victories at No. 1 singles and doubles without dropping a single game.
Sophomore Lauren Turenne (Reading, Mass.) earned victories at No. 2 singles and doubles. Senior Brittany Mailman (Freedom, N.H.) won at No. 4 singles and at No. 1 doubles with Hannah White.
The lone freshman on the squad, Claire Toffey (Barnstable, Mass.) defeated her opponent at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-0 and also won at No. 2 doubles by the score of 8-1.
Sophomore Nikki Humphrey (Little Compton, R.I.) and junior Carolyn Drake (Great River, N.Y.) also earned victories at No. 6 and No. 5 singles, respectively, and as No. 3 doubles partners.
