Volleyball Earns 3-1 Win at Rivier

NASHUA, N.H. - September 17, 2009 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team rebounded from their first loss of the season with a 3-1 victory at Rivier on Thursday evening. The Chargers dropped the first set 20-25 but won the next three by scores of 25-23, 28-26, and 25-20. Colby-Sawyer improves to 5-1 on the season and will begin conference play on Saturday with a tri-match at the University of New England. Rivier drops to 3-6 with the loss.

Junior Michelle Doody (Franklin, Mass.) led all players with 16 kills. Senior Megan White (Monroe, Conn.) contributed 13 kills, while fellow senior Mickey LaPan (Medway, Mass.) tallied 27 digs to lead the Chargers defensively.

Junior Stef Turner (Boxborough, Mass.) and senior Kimberly Shannon (Wallingford, Conn.) each added nine and eight kills, respectively. Senior Genny Moore (Centreville, Mass.) had 41 assists.
