Women's Swim Team Defeated by Elms, 130-113

NEW LONDON, N.H. – November 21, 2009 - The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team fell to a solid Elms College team, 130-113, on Saturday afternoon at Knight Natatorium. The women will compete at Plymouth State on Sunday with first race scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Freshman Emily Olson (Lynn, Mass.) got the Chargers off to a good start by winning the 1000 freestyle in a time of 12:32.81. Olson recorded a season's best time of 1:17.93 in the 100 breaststroke earning a second place finish. She also had a second place finish in the 50 breaststroke at 36.45.

Freshman Gabrielle Velez (Arlington, Mass.) earned a victory in the 50 freestyle touching the wall at 26.95, while placing second in the 100 freestyle at 1:00.17.
