WENHAM, Mass. - October 24, 2009 - The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team defeated Gordon, 172-68 in their first meet of the 2009-2010 season.
Senior
Danielle Bowen led the women's team with first place finishes in the 50 backstroke, 100 backstroke, the 100 IM and the 200 yard medley relay. The medley relay team also was comprised of freshman
Emily Olson, freshman
Hannah Fairbank, and freshman
Gabrielle Velez.
Junior
Krisi Loh performed well beginning with a victory in the 1000 freestyle in 12:22.76. She also won the 500 freestyle in 6:00.69 and was a member of the first place 200 freestyle relay team. Other members of the relay team were junior
Allison Piersall, sophomore
Michele Lewis and Velez.
Freshmen
Emily Olson and
Gabrielle Velez earned their first collegiate victories in the 100 breaststroke and 50 freestyle, respectively.
The Chargers will host Western New England on Saturday, October 31 at 1:00pm.
