Volleyball Drops a Pair of Matches

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - October 23, 2009 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on day one of the Skidmore Classic Tournament. The Chargers will play Hunter and Union on Saturday at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, respectively.

Colby-Sawyer was swept 3-0 by Clarkson with scores of 25-21, 25-19, and 25-21. Junior Michelle Doody led the team with 12 kills and added 13 digs. Senior Genny Moore recorded 24 assists, while senior Mickey LaPan had a match-high 22 digs.

In the Chargers' second match, against the host school Skidmore, theThoroughbreds came back from 2-1 down to win a five-set thriller. Skidmore won by scores of 22-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-15, and 15-8. Doody had another solid match with 21 kills and 17 digs. Moore had 38 assists and LaPan picked up 26 digs.
