Volleyball Suffers First TCCC Loss; Swept by WNEC 3-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - October 20, 2009 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team was swept 3-0 by Western New England in The Commonwealth Coast Conference action on Tuesday evening. The conference loss is the first of the season for the Chargers who fall to 16-7 overall and 7-1 in the TCCC.

The Golden Bears (21-8, 6-1) won by scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 25-22.

Junior Michelle Doody had a team-high 10 kills. Junior Stef Turner and sophomore Kristin Sawyer added seven and six kills, respectively.

The team travels to play in a tournament this weekend hosted by Skidmore. The Chargers will play Clarkson Uniiversity and Skidmore College on Friday and Hunter and Union on Saturday.
