CSC Men 20 vs. Curry College 5
Another physical match for the Chargers. Playing on artificial turf in sunny, beautiful weather, Colby-Sawyer got out to a very fast start, keeping the ball deep in Curry's side well into the first half. Curry regrouped a bit and the match became a middle of the field battle for nearly 20 minutes. Neither team was giving in, but neither could really generate a well organized attack and keep up with the frantic pace at the same time. A slicing run from Sophomore Peter Edson and a conversion put the Chargers on the board first. Rookie Sophomore Chris Thompson added another try before the end of 40 minutes. At the half, the Chargers regrouped, and came out a different team for the final 40. Again Senior Brett Campbell made strong attacks into the Curry backfield, always followed closely by Sophomore Sam Dione, to generate space for the Chargers. Sophomore Chris “Tank” Tenaglia had his best performance in 2 seasons. Hard hits, great defensive positioning and tremendous effort in the front row. Thompson touched another one down in the goal area mid-way through the second half on a well executed switch pass from Edson. Edson followed a few minutes later with a Penalty kick from 30 meters out.--Peter Edson- 1 Try, 1 Conversion and 1 Penalty Kick, Chris Thompson- 2 Trys
