Colby-Sawyer College Athletics

Mason Amitrano led the Colby-Sawyer men's swimming and diving team at last weekend's GNAC Championship with 32 points, which was the third most by an individual at the meet. DAY ONE: Amitrano won the 100 breaststroke to earn All-Conference accolades. After placing fourth in the prelims with a time of 1:08.70, Amitrano lowered his time to an impressive 1:02.42, just .39 off the GNAC record, to win the event and earn the team nine points. DAY TWO: Amitrano turned in several impressive performances for the second consecutive day. He won his second race of the weekend with a time of 56.28 in the 100 backstroke to earn nine points and his second All-Conference award. He had finished first in the prelims with a time of 56.76. The two victories for Amitrano this weekend earns him a pair of GNAC All-Conference awards. Amitrano added a second place finish in the 100 IM in a time of 58.38 for seven points. In the prelims, he took the top spot in 58.57. He then collected another second place good for seven points in the 50 backstroke. He clocked in at 26.84 in the finals after a 27.20 time in the prelims.
