Jesse Socci was named Interim Head Coach for Colby-Sawyer Chargers Cross Country / Track & Field in late 2019 after serving as an assistant coach since 2015. He returned to an assistant role in the summer of 2020.
Socci has been a part of the Track & Field program since his days as a student at Colby-Sawyer from 2011-2015. After graduating, he became a full time assistant coach in a Presidential Fellowship roll for the college, helping guide the Chargers to multiple conference championships as well as countless championship qualifiers. After his fellowship ended, Socci stayed on as a part time assistant coach, and has continued to be a large part of the program.
Socci has a B.S. in Sport Management and a Coaching Certificate from Colby-Sawyer, as well as his M.S. in Athletic Leadership with a focus in Athletic Administration from Castleton University. In addition to his coaching certification, Socci is a United States Track & Field Level 1 certified coach. He also serves as the throwers event group coach for the Chargers.
Socci, who is a former student-athlete at Colby-Sawyer from 2011-2015 had an impressive four-year career with the Men’s Track and Field Team. He earned qualifying marks for the New England and ECAC Championships in all seasons of competition, and earned All-New England Honors multiple times. In addition, he was selected to serve as a team captain beginning in his sophomore year, as well as one of the teams Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representatives. Towards the end of his career, Socci was instrumental in founding the Charger’s Indoor Track and Field Program, which became official during his senior year. At the time of his graduation, he held three school records for the Chargers.
