Meghan Medbery, a four-time NAC Coach of the Year (2012, 2013, 2014, 2017) and the program’s all-time leader in wins, returns to Colby-Sawyer as the Interim Head Coach in 2020.
She previously spent six seasons as the Head Coach of the Colby-Sawyer College women’s soccer program from 2012-2017. In that span, Medbery guided the Chargers to an 82-30-9 overall record and a 49-3-2 mark in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). She led the team to the program’s first conference title in 2013 and followed with championships in the next three seasons for a total of four in six years. The Chargers went 9-0 in the NAC regular season three times and had eight wins in two other seasons. She also is the all-time leader in winning percentage and guided the team to the top-4 win totals in program history.
Medbery has been connected with Colby-Sawyer for 17 years, four as a student-athlete, seven as an assistant coach, and six as the head coach.
Medbery was a four-year starter for the Chargers, co-captain in her senior year, an all-conference player three times, received the team MVP award two years in a row and was nominated for Female Charger Athlete of the Year her senior year.
Medbery also played on a premier team in Great Britain for a summer and was a semi-professional athlete for the NH Phantoms. After graduating from Colby-Sawyer College in 2004 with a degree in Exercise Science, she was hired as the assistant coach for the women’s soccer team and has provided coaching continuity since then.
Prior to leading the women’s soccer program at Colby-Sawyer College, Medbery was the fitness director at Laconia Athletic and Swim Club in Laconia, NH.
